Expert Evidence

DGA believe that expert planning evidence is an integral part of the client's dispute strategy and that it should be commissioned and developed from the outset of any legal or adversarial process.  The Expert's opinion is, or at least should be, vitally important in the assessment of business and commercial risk.  The early objective and independent review of evidence is central to this process.

With regard to the planning function, the establishment of criticality is all important.  Clarity of evidence, conciseness of argument, understanding the facts and precision in delivery are the hallmarks of a good Expert Witness; and the Planning Expert must apply all such skills in communicating the impact of events and parallel activities.  Planning evidence is easily undermined by a client's misunderstanding of external events and an Expert must be objective, test the facts and challenge his own client's position and convictions with just as much vigour as those of the other party.

In commisioning an Expert Planning Witness through DGA, clients can be confident that their case will be fully researched and challenged, and the strengths and weaknesses of their position highlighted and brought to the fore, allowing sound business judgments to be made.
